A statement from the Kirk Session
We feel it is important to share an update about our application to East Renfrewshire Council for renewal of our previous permission to remove trees and shrubs at the northern edge of the lower car park.
As a Community Church, Orchardlea seeks to be a good neighbour, and to engage fully with our community. Our gardens, maintained by a team of volunteers, are frequently enjoyed and praised by visitors and neighbours alike.
Our work of outreach, both directly by the Church and by The Black Door Shop charity, is vital to our mission of bringing the love of the Lord into our community.
It has always been our intention, in the event that permission is granted by the council, to fully engage with our neighbours, and the local community more widely. We have already been in informal discussion with some of our neighbours and we hope this has given them a greater degree of clarity about the situation and our intentions.
We plan to give a further update once we receive a decision from the council.
